Who you are

• You are an expert in distributed systems and worked on Machine Learning driven cloud applications.
• You can zoom out to manage high level technical architecture and zoom in to code strategic components when necessary
• You are opinionated with engineering best practices and spread excellence through the organization
• You have owned & delivered multi-year engineering project leading other engineers
• You are a magnet for senior candidates, participating in interviews to keep a high bar of technical excellence
• You enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a key leader in building Abnormal’s Cloud Protection Suite - oversee the design, development & operation of a distributed anomaly detection system which:

  • Can operate across various domains with a standardized data model
  • Can keep ingestion-to-decision latency in the range of single digit seconds
  • Enables adding new events & domains with minimal overhead
  • Supports detection scenarios with varying requirements
  • Can scale to ~1M QPS volume

• Handle the information flow between customers, product, leadership and front lines, incorporating insights from all detection into the tactics & the strategy

• Help grow senior engineers by identifying the gaps in their skills and providing guidance

• Help grow Abnormal’s team by attracting candidates and participating in interviews

Experience You’ll Need

• 10+ years of Software Engineering Experience
• 6+ years of Experience with Distributed Systems

• Either of the following:

  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience on CyberSecurity (ideally on fraud/anomaly detection)
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience on Data Streams
