About the job
Do you aspire to work in a creative industry? Are you obsessively organized? Enjoy working with people? Love good design, making things, and making things happen? Then you’ve got the foundational skills for this role!
Boundary is a creative agency based in sunny El Segundo, CA. We work with enterprise and startup clients, offering a range of services that include brand identity and strategy consulting, digital product design, UX/UI, web and mobile app development, and creative marketing.
Some of our clients include Red Bull, The NoMad Hotel, Guardant Health, Honeybee Health, MUD\WTR, GEM, Point.app, Swoop, and numerous Y Combinator startups.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Design Coordinator to oversee projects from start to finish, coordinating with our internal design and engineering teams, while also impressing clients with cordial, clear, and consistent communication.
You’re a good fit to work at Boundary if:
- You’re talented but humble
- You’re a self-starter
- You ask thoughtful questions
- You work hard but don’t take life too seriously
- You’re not a jerk
- You love the creative process
- You like the idea of working a few blocks from the beach (and directly across the street from a bar that our friends own)
- You’re always looking to grow and push beyond the status quo
What you’ll do on the daily:
- Help the design team build digital products and experiences across a range of client categories
- Document project processes and deliver reports to clients and the internal team
- Work directly with clients to plan features and functionality of new products
- Prioritize and oversee execution of design and engineering tasks related to product development and implementation
- Assist with creating user journey diagrams, sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes
- Manage project priorities and sprints in Asana, Slack, and other project management tools
- Collaborate with internal and external developers to ensure the team’s designs translate effectively into code
- Communicate clearly and regularly with clients via email, Slack, phone, etc.
- Schedule and participate in meetings to present work and/or discuss challenges and solutions in real-time
- Manage frequent changes to project scope and schedule
- Solve day-to-day problems and exercise good judgment, including the determination of when to escalate issues
- Review designs from team members and provide constructive feedback
- Help present the team’s work to clients and explain to them why it’s so amazing
The skills you’ll need to pay the bills:
- Stellar oral and written communication
- A joy for tackling difficult problems
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and accurately set and meet deadlines
- Comfort working autonomously, leading a project from start to finish, as well as working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency working with software tools such as Asana, Trello, Jira, Slack, Excel, etc.
- Confidence articulating and pitching your ideas
- An appreciation for and understanding of how digital products are made
- The desire to create, learn, and always be growing
Earn bonus points if you:
- Have prior project management and/or account management experience at a creative agency or company
- Can push pixels (or code) with tools like Figma and Webflow
- Have experience managing technical projects in Jira or Github
- Are great at making people smile and laugh
Benefits:
- Flexible (hybrid) office and at-home work schedule
- Autonomy to own projects end-to-end
- Immense growth potential within the company
- Unlimited PTO
- Health benefits
- 401K
- Frequent company outings
- Fantastic office location (blocks from the beach, and tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance)
