Austin based startup, Wrexx, seeks an experienced Hardware Engineer to assist development for an on-vehicle device for crash detection and reporting that pairs with users’ mobile phones and communicates via satellite.
Competencies

  • Fluent in C/C++ on embedded platforms. Interest in MicroPython/TinyGo a plus.
  • Delivering functionality from gathering requirements to CI and UAT
  • Practical experience with wired microcontroller protocols (I2P, I2C, SPI, USB, UART)
  • Familiar with tools for source revision control, project management, continuous integration
  • Inquisitive about new technology with a Maker attitude
  • Eager to work with a team and collaborate with colleagues and customers in a positive, professional, and effective manner
  • Help create scalable hardware/firmware processes for a growing company
  • Handles the integration of various radio technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, WiFi etc.) Responsibilites
  • Developing the firmware for Wrexx's microcontroller based on-vehicle hardware device for detecting and reporting crashes.
  • Provide feedback to senior hardware engineer and leadership to guide product design.
  • Integrating with a React Native app, satellite communication, and backend API.
