Hello, Heads of Operations!
My name is James and I am the CEO at GeekOut Events – an events company that has built a worldwide community focused on an international audience of e-commerce marketers and brand owners. We consistently sell out our events to a group of exceptional, highly vetted and curated founders whose brands do 45 million a year on average. We normally have people fly in from all over the world for our 3-day events. We provide them a sandbox to play in by taking care of food, unique experiences, and education so they can learn and network. We have many attendees who will go to multiple events regardless of location to enjoy our community as much as possible.
We are looking to hire a results-oriented Head of Operations who can thrive in the events industry implementing operational processes and making sure that everything is running smoothly. Someone who takes pride in what they do and wants to create success because they like to create success for themselves. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being around the team and the event business.
This is a full-time remote position.
We are looking for a Head of Operations specifically with these requirements:
- Excellent English communication skills
- At least 3+ years experience as Head of Operations or similar role
- At least 4+ years experience in the events business/industry
- Has experience with events operations, marketing events, ticket sales, and promotions
- Has experience in dealing and selling sponsorships/ sponsorship packages
- Has experience managing creative teams
- Familiar with basic project management and communication tools: Zoom, Slack, ClickUp, etc
- Has the ability to create and refine efficient systems of doing things, both on a personal and company-wide level
- Comfortable working in US EST business hours
Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Work side by side with the founders in implementing operational processes and business strategies that are aligned with the company’s goals
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the company
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures and policies that promote positive company culture
- Monitor operations performance with OKR/KPI tracking: making sure that all departments ( marketing, events managers, sales, sponsorships) are meeting the goals and deadlines
- Work with the Finance team to oversee the financial portion of things: a review of cash flow, profit, and loss statements, and propose financial strategies for profitable growth and revenue
- Work closely with the sponsors and manage sponsorship deals
