Software Engineer

Alexandria is a rapidly expanding start-up looking to hire a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Software Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with distributed databases, preferably cassandra/dynamo DB and kafka. We need someone who has worked with production code, ideally for 4+ years.

Looking for a great problem solver. We are looking for someone who is an experienced programmer and will put in the extra effort and loves to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Help define requirements for new features and assist with Sprint planning
• Passionate about building and optimizing performance
• Happy to take technical leadership on project work
• Show off your code review, debugging and refactoring skills, taking advantage of every opportunity to make the codebase better
• Shaping, estimating and planning new requirements
• Strive for continuous improvement within the team
• Ability to work in an Agile and high-paced environment
• Work closely with the product team
• Manage, maintain production systems and cloud infrastructure
• Provide scalable and reliable distributed solutions for future system growth

Qualifications

• 5 Years of Relevant Work Experience, internships not included.
• MS degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
• Strong knowledge in working with Unix/Linux Environment, Relational databases, distributed storage system, networking, Web application development; Google cloud platform.
• Skilled programming skills in Java and Python
• Software development experiences including build system, deployment system
