Shopify/Marketplace Developer Intern

Fresh Sip is currently looking for a driven Shopify/Marketplace Developer Intern who has an interest in working with brands in the Food & Beverage industry.

About A Fresh Sip:
We are trailblazers setting the stage for the growing new trend in the beverage industry -- making drinking culture inclusive. We are building a marketplace for the "low" and "no" alcohol beverage vertical as thousands of new beverages continue to enter the market. This is an opportunity to get in at the ground level of emerging wave and demand of niche marketplaces and the quickly expanding nonalcohlic beverage vertical.

We are a team of ex-tech entrepreneurs, consultants, TEDx and global speakers, and brand experts who had to cut back on drinking alcohol for health reasons over the last decade. As former startup founders and tech entrepreneurs we saw the trends highlighting an uptick in zero-proof and low ABV beverages and decided to build a platform & community highlighting this growing space.

You will be working very closely with and be mentored by the founding team.

Internship Objectives:

• Support the expansion and maintenance of our shopify store
• Support the planning and development of our new marketplace
• Work with our team to develop new strategic initiatives
• Support product efforts

Requirements:

• Current student or recent graduate with a background in a related subject area (engineering, data science, business, computer science, STEM)
• Ability to write high quality code
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time
• Working knowledge of development best practices and experience working in a team
• Ability to explore complex problems spaces objectively from multiple points of view
• Experience in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript/ECMA
• A strong knowledge of Shopify platform
• Knowledge of shopify liquid templating language
• Experience working with / building e-commerce stores and marketplaces
• Basic knowledge with Shopify theme development and customization
• The ability to always seek the simplest and most elegant solution to often complex problems
• Drive to continously build on shopify knowledge and stay up to date on trends
• A strong understanding of responsive web design techniques

Bonus

• Specific knowledge of Java, Python, Ember.js and/or JavaScript are a plus
• Specific experience in or knowledge of data systems is a plus
• Deep knowledge of Liquid and previous shopify development is a plus
• A practical understanding of out of the box marketplace solutions like marketcube.io, sharetribe, multi-vendor marketplace on shopify is a BIG plus
• Experience working with different Shopify JS APIs (storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections etc) is a plus
• This is a 6 month part-time internship (with a possibility for FT during the summer)
