The Role

LOUD (let optimism unleash dreams) Art Society is an integration of mental health optimization, specialized therapeutic art programs and services. Now in our 6th year of operation we have impacted the lives of over 200 individuals in person and over 4000 online audiences. We are currently seeking motivated individuals that want to advocate for mental health, art, promoting creative activities and connecting creative professionals and therapists with communities in Calgary. We partner and collaborate with artists, art-therapists, music-therapist and mindfulness coaches to deliver our services.

Our mission is: To connect and engage families, at risk youth and vulnerable individuals with art and creative activities , art-therapists and artists in order to prevent and cure anxiety, depression, self-harm, PTSD, eating disorders and optimize mental, physical and emotional health.

Our Vision is: To provide an easy and affordable access to art, practicing any form of creativity and art education for a creative and healthy lifestyle to as many communities as possible.

*Grant Writer *

We are looking to hire a dedicated Grant Writer to write grant proposals for our organization. The Grant Writer will write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. You will apply your knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach income goals. You will collaborate with team members in the organization to assist with other fundraising projects, and develop relationships with key stakeholders.

To ensure success you need to write well, have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods, and be committed to the mission you are representing. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players with outstanding multitasking abilities. Our ideal candidate is someone who will be able to enthusiastically help our organization attain the donations it needs to serve the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission and vision
  • Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs.
  • Assisting with the execution of the development department's strategy.
  • Identifying grant funding opportunities.
  • Writing, collecting submission materials, submitting, and managing grant proposals.
  • Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.
  • Collaborating with the Executive Director and Director of Fund Development to send funders newsletters, and to promote on-site tours.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Fund Development to compile an annual report.
  • Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in creative writing, communications or related field.
  • A Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification and/or a membership in good standing with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) or similar professional designation is an asset.
  • 2+ years of grant writing experience.
  • Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • Excellent knowledge of fund development for nonprofit organizations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient time management and ability to meet deadlines.
