This position will lead process integration function on III-V semiconductor components including lasers and photodetectors and also lead the activity to build a laser manufacture fab. This position will directly report to the VP of Engineering. The qualified candidate must possess a strong, independent work ethic, great leadership and an unrelenting commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Includes but not limited to the following:
• Drive and work closely with external III-V semiconductor foundries to design robust process flow and monitor key process steps for next-generation optoelectronic products
• Work with team to design a mass volume III-V semiconductor fab from scratch
• Specify, procure, setup and qualify new wafer fab capital equipment
• Work closely with R&D team to design process flow and mask layout for various optoelectronic products including lasers and photodetectors
• Transfer process from small foundry to large volume fab and maintain or improve process yield
• Monitor SPC, improve the device performance, yield and reliability related to laser epi and process during both development and production phases and document all process changes
• Lead troubleshooting on epi and process related failure modes
• Support quality team to sustain and prepare for audits or certifications related to epi and process
Requirements/Education/Experience:
• Master degree on Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering majors. Ph.D. degree would be preferred.
• 3+ years of process integration experience for III-V optoelectronics devices such as VCSEL, edge-emitters, photodiode and etc.
• Industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing would be preferred.
• Extensive hands-on experience on semiconductor process technologies for III-V and Silicon devices with several of the following processes and tools: PECVD, E-beam, Sputter, ellipsometer, photolithography, dry and wet etch.
• Deep knowledge of process flow, mask layout and recipes on optoelectronics process and material science.
• Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, great team player, open to suggestions.
• Detail oriented, highly organized, strong common sense, able to follow up and ensure closure of problems.
• Fluent in English oral speaking and writing.
