The WWG platform POC was built through an outsourced team, on top of a custom distributed ledger technology, mainly using React, Angular 4 (TypeScript) and Node.js. With the successful launch of the pilot platform, they have now hired a hands-on CTO to begin the transition to bring the development in-house and build out the platform MVP to make it production-ready. The next phase of development will involve a big rethink in terms of UX/responsiveness and also in data/model/API architecture. There are big challenges and opportunities to learn about ledger technologies, utility tokens, smart contracts, mapreduce/big-data concepts, speed layers, document-oriented NoSQL, etc.
