Willow focuses on a user’s essential assets, which include (1) financial assets, e.g. cash accounts, investment accounts, life insurance proceeds, and compensation packages, etc.; (2) pets, e.g. dogs, cats, horses, etc.; and (3) personal property, e.g. jewelry, art, furniture, vehicles, family heirlooms, and other valuable or sentimental items. Users will designate beneficiaries and desired outcomes for these assets and have the option to include back-story, value, pictures, audio & video messages and more. Our app creates a legacy experience for the user, breaking from the traditional view of a will as a death planning tool and transforming the experience into one that is easily maintained on a mobile device and updated throughout the user’s lifetime. Willow aims to normalize estate planning and remove its traditional socio-economic barriers.
