WFIRM’s mission is, “To improve patients’ lives through regenerative medicine”. WFIRM does this through targeted programs supporting research, education, and collaborations among academic research centers, regional and national government, and industry. WFIRM focuses on bioengineering, biomedical and related technologies associated with engineered human tissues, including cell culture, gene therapy, organ transplantation, regeneration, biomaterials, tissue manufacturing, informatics, and computer-assisted analysis and design. Over 80 innovative TERM technologies are currently being developed, from basic to mature projects that are ready for the bedside. We take pride in both the advancement and successful translation of the field as well as the facilitating the growth of tomorrow’s professional workforce needed.
