• Design custom mechanical components for our advanced robotics and teleoperations systems, including end-effectors, grippers, manipulators, mounts, etc.
• Develop and implement solutions for rapid prototyping of new hardware designs to ensure performance, reliability and manufacturability.

• Own model quality end-to-end: dataset curation, training, and evaluation.
• Work with multimodal sensor data from Cameras, IMUs, LiDar and Odometry to shape the training set as the fleet grows.

• Decide which training method to try next as the model roadmap advances.
• Design the evaluation that tells you whether a result generalizes or just fits the case it was built for.

• Run and evaluate training experiments as we scale our models.
• Curate and clean the data those experiments train on.

• Run tryouts and training sessions for new pilots, and track how they perform.
• Pull and report on KPIs (telemetry, task times, etc.) for your piece of the floor.

• Own robot allocation and fleet readiness across competing internal demands.
• Stand up and run new customer sites through construction, security, and network build-out, and drive production-cycle pilots to a real, time-boxed conclusion.

• Own end-of-line test procedures through manufacturing and shipping.
• Diagnose defects that don't respect the line between mechanical, electrical, and software.

• Build the foundational operating processes including vendor management, site leasing, and spend.
• Take ad hoc vendor, contract, and logistics work off engineering and technicians.

• Own the pilot program: tryouts, training cohorts, and the performance work that turns a new pilot into a great one, across a 2,000+ pilot operation.
• Define KPIs and measure performance (telemetry, task times, etc.), and close the loop from data to action.

• Own schedule, budget, and cross-functional delivery for the hardware programs that teach robots new tasks.
• Take a program from first build to validated, with no existing process to lean on.

• Build, test, and optimize robots that run continuously.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues in autonomous systems.

• Implement sourcing strategies for several open searches at once.
• Reach candidates who aren't actively job hunting through direct outreach, referrals, and community engagement.

• Core Platforms: Drive end-to-end development for video-heavy annotation platforms, VR teleoperation interfaces, and secure customer portals.
• Off-Robot Systems: Build cloud infrastructure, load balancing, and high-throughput pipelines to ingest and process petabyte-scale telemetry streams in real time.

• Own training and inference infrastructure.
• Build the data pipelines that these training runs depend on.

• Execute Board Bringup: Lead initial board bring-up, construct reliable Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL), and write drivers directly touching our raw microcontrollers and actuators.
• Drive HIL Testing & Validation: Architect, set up, and automate robust hardware-in-the-loop testing rigs to ensure exceptional electromechanical reliability and safety.

• Build and refine sourcing strategies that go beyond volume: creative outbound, referral networks, and community engagement.
• Help shape Watney's recruiting function, employer brand and candidate experience from first touch to offer.

• Own the Core Platforms: Drive end-to-end development for video-heavy annotation platforms, VR teleoperation interfaces, and secure customer portals.
• Architect Off-Robot Systems: Build cloud infrastructure, load balancing, and high-throughput pipelines to ingest and process petabyte-scale telemetry streams in real time.
