Vyu is a multiscreen entertainment company in Santa Monica, California that recently soft-launched our beta, VyuTV, a free TV app for iPhone and Android that makes it easy to discover and consume TV info – news, videos, and social media – all in one place. Think Flipboard for TV – meets social media.

Focused on high-growth emerging markets, with the Middle East/Africa as the first proof-of-concept, VyuTV features content on U.S./Middle East shows in both English and Arabic.

The opportunity for Vyu is around leveraging high-growth emerging markets (world’s highest TV/video consumption, highest social engagement, and skyrocketing smartphone growth), the continued high spend on TV advertising, and the desire for credible viewership data. Vyu's vision is to become the leading ad-supported VOD platform.

Apple recently chose VyuTV as one of the "Best New Apps" in all Middle East app stores and is currently featuring it as one of the "essential" apps for a summertime ad campaign.
