The Vitol Group is a global energy and commodity trading company, involved in exploration and production, refining, terminals, trading, marketing and distribution. The company was founded in Rotterdam in 1966 by Henk Viëtor. It is a private company, with 330 employees making up its shareholders. Vitol's head offices are located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and Geneva, Switzerland and their main operations are based in Geneva, Houston, Singapore, and London. Vitol’s trading portfolio includes crude oil, oil products, bunker fuel, LPG, LNG, natural gas, coal, power, metals and carbon emissions. Vitol’s subsidiaries include VTTI, a major player in the storage and terminal business and Arawak Energy, a multi-asset oil and gas production, development and exploration company which operates in Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Our trading is, first and foremost, physical. We charter tankers and move crude oil and oil products. Products such as, gasoline, diesel, heating oil, fuel oil, jet fuel, naphtha and metals, as well as ethanol and chemicals: all over the world, every day. And we pipe gas, fill and operate terminals, ship coal and biofuels.
