People at VENIM
VENIM is a woman-owned and operated streetwear brand that produces and sells unisex, customizable denim jackets made from reclaimed denim. My co-founder, Kaycee, and I met in fashion design school and agreed from day one that gender-inclusivity and innovative, waste-minimizing approaches to materials and production were crucial if we wanted to progress the fashion industry forward. A decade later, we founded VENIM on these principles and chose the denim trucker jacket as our focus because of its utility and its symbolism of counterculture and democracy throughout time. In addition to being produced from what's known as excess "liability fabric", our denim jackets are made entirely in California and can be customized with various options in color, fit, buttons, and unique finishes. Our hope is that by inviting customers to participate in the design of their jacket, they cherish and wear it for longer and feel empowered to shop outside of traditional gendered size restrictions.
