Up Coast Digital Products careers
I am Abbey and I am the founder of Up Coast. I started my career as a iOS Engineer and later moved into Product Management. Up Coast is a new kind of digital product agency that is offering product management services packaged up as products themselves to businesses. The intention is for businesses who need PM services but are not ready to hire a PM and/or only want some help vs a full service product manager on staff. I believe that my ICP will be a very early stage founder who is not yet ready to let go of their idea and hand it over to a PM and/or who does not yet have enough funding to hire.

But you may wonder why did I start this company? Like a lot of people right now who are starting new ventures this new business was precipitated by both being laid off and also contracting long Covid, that order. Working with long Covid is pretty hard and after a year of that I ended up sick, unemployed, on disability. I realized that for my health I need to either take short contracts or work part time. No problem, right?
It turns out that while you can find short contracts - and even part time ones - as an engineer, but you can not find it as a product manager.
There are a lot of people out there right now who are in the same position as me due to their physical or mental health, or that of a family member. These are talented professionals with years of experience behind them at big impressive companies (I've worked at Intel, Mastercard, and Rivian) who's knowledge would bring so much value to small companies if small companies just knew how to access them. At the same time these professionals are desperate to be able to work without having to work 8-5 M-F.
What I would like Up Coast to grow into is an agency that makes part time short term work available to professionals who can't work full time anymore.
