The J Herbert Smith Centre for Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (TME) is dedicated to cultivating new ideas, creative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit in the ever changing world of technology. The Centre offers an innovative undergraduate diploma program that is designed to ensure students and professionals with technological backgrounds have business and entrepreneurial skills to succeed today.

The only one of its kind in Atlantic Canada, the centre is named after Dr. J. Herbert Smith, a graduate of UNB’s Faculty of Engineering who became President and CEO of General Electric Canada. An inspirational leader who firmly believed in the power of hard work and an entrepreneurial spirit, Dr. Smith’s endowment funded the establishment of the Centre nearly three decades ago. Located on the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton campus, the Centre is part of the Faculty of Engineering, although any student with a technology or business background can take TME courses.
