First and foremost, we improve the lives of thousands of teachers every day. We started as a toy project written for a Montessori school 7 years ago. Now, as a small, profitable team of only six people with two developers, we are the market leader and serve 700+ schools worldwide. We have taken $0 in venture funding and are profitable with a stable subscription model. We love being small and nimble and plan on growing conservatively and sustainably as it makes sense. We move fast -- really fast, by exploiting our size to build beautiful software quickly. We use practices (such as agile, lean, design thinking, etc.) when they make sense, and throw them away as soon as they don’t. We constantly learn and evolve and grow, maintaining a growth mindset, and practicing what Montessorians call “friendliness with error.” * Write software that improves the lives of over 5,000 teachers and the 40,000 children they guide. * Are friendly, goofy, joyful, social justice conscious, sex- and body-positive, and believe in safer spaces. * Build fast, learn from our mistakes, and accept being imperfect. * Constantly improve and iterate as we experiment with new practices. * Have a flexible environment (for example, up to 50% remote, otherwise co-located in North Seattle). * Are obsessed with our customers: we learn from them in every interaction whether it is through monitoring, a prod support call, or a conversation at a conference.
