The group tour industry has long been the ugly duckling of travel. This has left tour guides and tour operators with dated and unsanitary tech options for hosting visitors on guided tours. With no alternative available, tour guides are forced to use dated transistor analog radios as listening devices during guided tours. For tips, collection hats are passed around the group, and for reviews, tour guides and tour operators just have to hope the guests remember them at some point in the future. TourStream solves these problem and others with an intuitive app-based solution to broadcast live audio during in-person tours. Additionally, in-app tipping helps collect tips digitally for a growingly cashless world, in-app reviews posted to major platforms makes reviews more convenient for the tourists, and a market place for tour operators to cross-sell travel related products and services increases revenue. With 12+ years experience in the tours and activities industry, cofounder Brent Burton took a hands-on approach while designing TourStream. Burton lead 3,000+ guided tours in Rome, Italy and went on to found an Italy based tour operation, Atlas Tours. This domain expertise provided the boots-on-the-ground experience to build a relevant and effective mobile app the group tour industry desperately needs.
