About The Middle: The Middle is an innovative online marketplace redefining personal assistants for today's job market. We match busy individuals with local, part-time personal assistants. I know what you’re thinking, and no, personal assistants are not just a luxury for the rich and famous. At least, that’s not the type of personal assistant The Middle is for. Our personal assistants aren’t like the freelancers on Task Rabbit who do a one-off job, and they aren’t the 24/7 career assistants who are at a desk all day. These are part-time, ongoing positions. And by part-time, I mean as little as a few hours a week, with flexible engagements, reasonable pricing, and in-person tasks or remote work. The Problem: Simply put: people need jobs and people need help. Work and life is blended together now more than ever. Our clients, generally small business owners and working professionals who weren’t financially impacted by COVID, are struggling to juggle work, family, kids and maybe even - gasp - a personal life! With working from home, everything is all under the same roof and our clients are finding their to-do lists piling up, and they are unable to get ahead because they’re bogged down by the little things. About Me (Gracie): I have been a freelance personal assistant since 2013, so I intimately understand this overlooked segment of the market and how to design a product that will best serve both the personal assistant and the client. The Middle is modeled after my own experience working for anywhere from 2-5 clients at a time, part-time. I worked as a personal assistant to CEOs, entrepreneurs, sales managers, consultants, talent managers, and producers, so I’m well-versed in problem solving and meeting varying needs. Additionally, I am earning my M.S. in Entrepreneurship at USC Marshall School of Business. Traction: I have been operating like an agency since April 2020, and have over 125 assistants in my database and 15+ clients.
