Matters careers

Matters uses decentralized technology to empower creators with the freedom of content, data, and business models in the age of Web 3.0. We believe that individual creativity is the smallest unit of freedom, and discussion and communication is the smallest unit of the public. Therefore, we hope to penetrate monopoly and censorship and explore a more decentralized content ecosystem and realization model.

Matters.news is a social network for creators based on decentralized technology. Starting from 2018, Matters.news stored all content in IPFS, introduced LikeCoin, launched the small fiat payments feature , open-sourced the Matters project, introduced the Circle function aiming to assist creators in building and maintaining their supporter community based on the subscription model.

This year, Matters has gathered more than 80,000 registered writers. As its influence grows, Matters has also received recognition from industry and organizations. Matters received the 2020 Google News Initiative Innovation Challenge Award, was selected for the University of Hong Kong's Innovation Incubator Media-X program, and received support from the Grant for the Web flagship program last October.

In 2021, Matters will launch the Presstack project to promote the construction of distributed independent sites, allowing creators to easily build their own dApps, connect with storage technologies such as Arweave and Filecoin, access NFT and ENS, and realize a new content revenue model. This will be the modularized WordPress in the Web3.0 era and become a key step for the public to access Web3.0.

Matters explores a new generation of decentralized content ecology starting from the community, which requires more solid product and technology exploration and faster iteration. The Matters team locate in Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Taipei, and we welcome and support remote working.
