Master keys are frequently misplaced by individuals who service commercial buildings. Lost keys are usually found, however the panic in the interim creates a real crisis for the personnel involved in the search. The cost of re-keying a commercial building ranges anywhere from a few thousand dollars to in excess of $100,000.
The Tether GRAVITY eliminates this problem. GRAVITY consists of two battery-powered units: a Belt Unit that clips on the wearer’s belt; and a Key Unit that holds the keys, which is holstered in the Belt Unit. In normal use, the wearer removes the Key Unit to unlock doors and then re-holsters the keys in the Belt Unit. If the wearer walks away leaving the keys behind, each unit activates alarms when the separation exceeds about 5 to 7 steps. The Belt Unit vibrates and chirps, and the Key Unit sounds an 85 dB alarm and flashes a strobe light. The employee, becomes aware of the mistake, and can easily retrieve the keys without panicking management.
