WindFarmDesigns optimize the placement of wind turbines in order to maximise production and minimize loads on turbines. The most critical part of wind farm project development is positioning of turbines. Poor placements cause underperformance from low wind speeds or turbines can even suffer damaging loads from turbulence and high shear caused by upstream turbine wakes and terrain effects.

WindFarmDesigns is takes such wind conditions into account to carefully optimize production while minimising loads. This is achieved by combining our ten years experience from challenging wind conditions in the Norwegian complex terrain with our expertise in operations research and wind flow modeling.

Our core product is the algorithms enabling layout optimization and wind resource analysis, and are availabe in the form of a web application for online use, as a desktop application (for both online/offline use), and as an API for integration in other software and in-house tools.
