TagaPet's overall goal is to one day solve the problem of lost pets. The TagaPet Argos Tag is the first step in our journey to solve this problem. The Argos Tag is a pet tag that fits onto a pet's collar. The tag can be scanned by any capable smartphone using a QR code reader or NFC technology. Once the tag is scanned, the user will be taken to the pet's profile and the pet owner will receive a map containing the GPS location of the pet! The pet profile contains pet information, pet picture, and owner information.

We advertise the Argos Tag as "Active Pet Protection" because it actually helps the owner look for the pet when the pet is lost. When a pet is lost, the owner can get on the pet's profile and report the pet lost. As soon as this happens, lost pet alerts containing a pet profile link are sent out through Twitter and Facebook. These alerts are also sent to local animal shelters.
