Suvita is closing the “awareness gap” by deploying SMS based nudges encouraging caregivers to vaccinate their children. We have two evidence-based models:

The Immunisation Ambassador Model: we are building a network of carefully selected volunteer immunisation ambassadors, nominated as ‘influencers’ by others in their community, who share information with new parents in their community about vaccines. Research from Nobel Laurate Abhijit Banerjee and colleagues at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab reported a 10% increase in vaccine uptake after the implementation of the ambassador model.

The SMS Reminder Model: we send caregivers personalised SMS reminders along their child’s vaccination schedule, reminding them when their child is due for a vaccination. In 2019, our meta-analysis of nine existing randomised controlled trials confirmed that SMS reminders increase vaccine uptake between 3 and 8 percentage points.
