Founded by Blaine Vess and Chris Nelson in 1999, Student Brands originally provided a search engine to help students complete research papers. It eventually shifted toward a content-sharing model and has grown into an established destination for students looking to learn and increase their knowledge on nearly any topic. Prior to being acquired, Student Brands was self-funded and its network continues to support more than 90 million visitors a month.
