Student Veteran House careers

Our name is intentionally simple. Student Veteran House will be a residential facility built for veterans with disabilities pursuing higher education. The home will be on or near university campuses and equipped with the latest architectural and technological features for Universal Accessibility. It’s hard enough going back to school; we want to minimize any additional challenges a veteran with a disability might encounter in a traditional living situation. A concept even more important to SVH than accessibility is camaraderie. Men and women in our armed services experience a bond with their fellow service members that can be likened to that of family. Upon gaining veteran status, however, many lose that sense of belonging. It is our hope that by providing a place for veterans with similar experiences to live, camaraderie will be fostered once again. Together they can help one another accomplish their new mission, succeeding in the world of academia.
