The Role

You’ll be joining as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, working closely with our CTO and other senior engineers. Your initial focus will be on learning our infrastructure and contributing to existing features, with clear guidance from the team. As you progress, you’ll take ownership of new features—eventually driving project specs, requirements, and architecture decisions on your own.

Responsibilities

• Build & Maintain: Develop scalable web applications using Node.js, Vue.js, Postgres, and MongoDB.

• Collaborate & Innovate: Work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams (product, data, AI) to brainstorm and deliver impactful features.

• Code Quality: Write clean, testable code and perform code reviews. Provide constructive feedback to peers and mentor junior developers.

• Optimize & Evolve: Continuously improve our codebase—refactoring where needed and recommending best practices.

• Own Projects: Transition from following specs to driving entire projects—collecting requirements, creating architecture docs, and leading implementations.

• Stay Current: Keep up to date with evolving tools, trends, and best practices—especially in AI and big data.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience, ideally in fast-paced or startup environments.

• Expertise with JavaScript, Node.js, and Vue.js (or a comparable frontend framework).

• Database Mastery: Experience with both SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

• Adaptability: Comfortable switching between tasks and working on evolving requirements—this is a startup, after all!

• Startup Experience: You thrive in environments where you can think outside the box, take ownership, and move quickly.

• Autonomous: You don’t need hand-holding. You can dive into complex problems, break them down, and deliver solutions.

• B2B SaaS: Experience building or maintaining SaaS platforms is a big plus.

• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate solutions, mentor others, and contribute in a collaborative team setting.

• AI/ML Interest: Curiosity or experience in AI/ML-driven platforms.

• Side Projects or Open Source: Show us your passion through your GitHub or personal projects.

• Hybrid in Montreal or Remote: We have an office in Montreal where employees typically come in at least twice a week, fostering camaraderie and face-to-face collaboration. We love in-person interaction but are open to relocating top talent within Canada after a few months if you’re not already in Montreal. We are also open to remote workers elsewhere in Canada.
