We want to build the communication layer for a global AR-enabled “internet of places.” From dial-up internet to the iPhone age, we’ve accessed the web through tiny glowing screens on desktops and smartphones. We’re moving into a new age in which the camera becomes the interface to an internet that is overlaid on the real world - and not limited to 2D interfaces and content on screens. Email was the first killer app for the dial-up era. Text messaging was the first killer app for the mobile era. Similarly, we believe that the first killer app for the AR era will be social and revolve around peer-to-peer communication. We’ve manifested this vision into our first product, Taggr AR, which enables users to pin persistent digital content into the world, for other people to later find and interact with.
