It educates the public and encourages community participation. At Soundtap we are excited by the challenge and greatly satisfied from bringing the worlds top college and community radio stations to the world wide web and word wide mobile. The Soundtap team is a grass root organization of passionate members who are driven to make a positive impact in the independent an non-commercial radio community at a global level. The mission of Soundtap is to preserve the diversity that is college and community radio by delivering non-commercial radio to web and mobile audiences. The 21st century has seen a transformation in the way radio is consumed. Increasingly, people are tuning in over the internet and mobile devices rather than the airwaves. Expanding into this new medium is challenging for stations that hardly have resources to maintain their current infrastructure. Success in this transformation to the internet and mobile will democratize access to college and community radio over the entire world, failure will result in the destruction of community and culture and its replacement with commercial interests.
