Solarflux was founded in 2019 by a team dedicated to developing innovative technologies to help sustainably meet the growing energy demands of modern human civilization. The Solarflux team believes that parabolic dish concentrators offer unique potential to bring clean, inexpensive energy to a wide range of underserved market segments, particularly in regions of the world with an abundance of direct sunlight. The company's mission is to facilitate equitable access to clean energy and water for all.
While electricity gets much of the attention, 50% of global energy consumption is in the form of heat, with half of that consumed by industrial users. As industrial companies, municipalities, and other organizations seek to meet emissions reduction targets, addressing thermal energy consumption is becoming an ever greater imperative. However, there are few viable solutions for low-cost, flexibly deployable sustainable heat generation. The FOCUS addresses this growing need.
Designed from inception to minimize cost per unit of energy, the FOCUS is a dual-axis tracking parabolic dish concentrator with a unique, patented optical design. As a result, the FOCUS generates significantly more energy per unit area relative to alternative solar energy solutions. The FOCUS has been designed for minimum lifetime cost, utilizing low-cost materials, mature, proven manufacturing processes, and highly reliable, low-cost commercially available components. Mast-mounted, the FOCUS can be installed on unprepared or sloped ground. Installation and calibration, typically significant cost-drivers, are streamlined. Environmentally robust and resilient to UV degradation, the FOCUS has minimal maintenance requirements. An all-metal construction, the FOCUS is fully recyclable, with minimal end-of-life impacts, unlike other many other renewable energy technologies.
