People at Simula
Simula is building Linux-based VR headsets specifically designed to replace PCs & Laptops as knowledge workers' primary computing devices. Our target audience isn't VR gamers, but office workers who might not even have ever used VR before. We call our headsets "VR computers (VRCs)" to help distinguish them from gaming headsets (like Meta's Quest headsets, PSVR, or the Valve Index). Our earliest target customers are affluent software engineers who prefer to work in Linux already (https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/01/linux-use-overtakes-macos-on-the-stack-overflow-survey/), and can afford expensive headset purchases while our economies of scale are still low. Our company's ultimate mission is to become the world's first and most dominant work-focused VR computing platform, which office workers can migrate to from their PCs & Laptops.
