ShotQuality is a basketball analytics company that calculates the quality of shots in order to improve outcomes for coaches and bettors. The data we are outputting is completely unique and novel and fuels both of our customers bases— coaches and bettors. Last season, we had 60 NCAA Division l teams sign up to our service including the like of Arizona, Florida, Stanford and Auburn. Our predictive model, which was built on the same data, beat Vegas last season at a 54% rate, providing a pretty significant ROI for our betting customers.

The problem we solve at ShotQuality is a common cognitive bias present in sports called— outcome bias— where coaches and bettors judge their decision making based on the results of the decision, rather than the quality of the decision/process itself. At ShotQuality, we judge all decisions with the methodology of process over result in mind. Did the coach make the correct decision running that play make or miss of the shot? Did the bettor make the right selection of the bet win or lose?

At ShotQuality with the data we will be compiling, we are dedicated to building something special that will change both the coaching and gaming industry forever. Our revenue increased more than 700% from year 1 to year 2, and are expecting another exponential jump in year 3!
