Currently Online Shopping is time consuming (research intensive), lonely and linear. An average consumer checks about 10.4 sources of information before buying online. Also Online search is more linear whereas the shopping process is more iterative. And although today's social sharing tools are somewhat integrated with shopping research, they do not really emulate offline shopping behavior.
At ShopGodt we are building the first Online Shopping Connection Engine.
- We provide the user with real-time relevant and useful information points such as reviews, prices, blog opinions, etc. in an easy-to-read manner, and on one page.
- In addition to simplifying the online research process we also enable users to compare products and interact with friends in their social network to seek input, making the experience more engaging.
We chose to start with the apparel & accessories segment, targeting the savvy professional who is a value shopper and plan to expand to other categories (moms).
