Jobs at Shmonster

We are revolutionizing the way animation is done, making it easy and accessible for people of all ages. We're also helping users use technology in a balanced way, with apps that encourage them to step away from the screen too, move around, and go make something with their hands. This is particularly important with kids, though let's face it, we could all benefit from this. Shmonster was founded by me, Michal Finegold. I'm a mom, a software engineer, and a computer animation professional. I wanted let my toddler animate her own arts and crafts. But more than that, I looked around and saw that animation was harder than it needed to be. I wanted animation to be so easy, even my two year old could do it. I've worked on films such as The Hobbit, Captain America, and Happy Feet Two, as well as commercials like the Geico Gecko, and TV shows like Cosmos. I also have some background in education. In my career, I've seen us all spend so many hours at work away from our families, and so many of them were wasted and mis-used. So with Shmonster, I wanted a different sort of culture - where we can work flexibly, at times and locations that work best for us, and the focus is on what we actually accomplish, not putting in hours to impress a boss. We are a startup and I'd love to discuss the possibility of sharing equity with whoever comes on. We are in talks with several potential investors so of course once an investment comes in we can afford more significant salaries. Are you into joining a startup that's a little bit different? This isn't a bunch of people who raised money and rented space and hired all their buddies. This is a mom who worked tirelessly to create a product, which is already out and garnering a devoted following, and is now ready to grow the team and really go for it. Join us, it'll be an adventure!
