How it works. UPS and FedEx provide full-refunds on shipments delivered late, overbilled or unshipped. The catch is that these refunds are not automatic. A company must audited each shipment for refund eligibility and file refund claims manually. This process that is both complicated and time-intensive. Consequently, most refunds go uncollected.
