Sci-Code was created with the intention of bridging the gap between industry and education. We’re currently in the process of building a new education system with a focus on tailored learning experiences. Currently we're focusing on the field of IT-development. Oslo alone is lacking 15 000 developers. How are we going to fill that gap? We've started a collaboration with a few of Oslo largest companies (SAS, Flytoget, Innovasjon Norge, COOP, Elkjøp) in an attempt to figure out how we can help solve this problem. What we figured out was that most of these companies are working with similar technolgies, have resembling standards and sometimes even worked on the same projects as each other. This gave us an idea. What if we could create a project-based, industry-relevant challenge that could be applied for all companies simultaneously? After some effort, we managed to create something unique. The new platform, Diggit. This platform would give all developers, whether that be self-taught, junior, senior, or laymen, the opportunity to show their skills without having to rely on education or experience. This is how we intend to fill this daunting gap. Not only is the platform a massive time and resource saver for developers, it also allows companies to make more informed decisions about their candidates. After the challenge has been completed, we provide our developers with a detailed report of their evaluation, a score, and additional feedback to make sure we facilitate continuous improvement. If we can't find top-grade developers, we’re going to have to create them.
