Roofing Software Guide is the independent review site for roofers choosing software
The roofing industry runs on software now — CRMs, estimators, aerial measurement tools, project management platforms. There are dozens of options, vendor marketing is everywhere, and the existing "review sites" mostly read like rewritten brochures with a star rating slapped on top. Contractors swipe a credit card, hate the tool, and switch again six months later.
We built RSG to fix that.

We review the major roofing software platforms — roughly 15 of them — and score each one against a transparent five-category rubric: Ease of Use, Features, Pricing, Support, and Roofing-Specific functionality. Weightings differ between full platforms and specialized tools, but the methodology is published in full and every score is defensible. Tools land in one of three tiers: RSG Gold (9.0+), RSG Silver (8.0–8.9), or RSG Bronze (7.0–7.9). Anything below 7.0 doesn't get a badge, and we say so.

No vendor reviews their write-up before it goes live. Scores aren't negotiable.
Founder Matt Richardson spent 12 years running a roofing company in the Midwest before launching RSG. He started the site after watching one too many crews waste a Tuesday morning fighting with software clearly designed by people who'd never set foot on a roof. That perspective shapes how we score, we care about whether a tool works in 90° heat with gloved hands, not just whether the demo looks good.

RSG is independent, contractor-built, and free to read. The whole point is to be the resource we wished existed when we were the ones picking software.
