Materials that make robots smart
We are selling tactile sensors for robots that close the gap between robotic hardware (mobile bases / arms) and 3D perception, which are both inaccurate and do not provide the critical information that is needed for reliable, robust manipulation. To make it easier for customers to use our sensors, we also provide a complete software stack including perception, planning and control to create complex manipulation solutions using a simple, high-level Python script (currently for Rethink Robotics and Kinova arms, but growing). Initial customers are the growing "collaborative robotics" market, which requires safe operation in unstructured environments, and the large market of hackers/hobbyists/startups who wish to create novel robotic solutions. Our business model is based on transactions for sensors, royalties from manufacturers who wish to integrate our technology, and - in the future - subscriptions and services around our software stack.
