Revinax has been co-founded by a neurosurgeon and a 3D mobile and video software expert. We started Revinax on the promise to deliver next generation tools for experiential surgery training. Thanks to our CEO's background, we understood his main issues while he was training to become a neurosurgeon: the point of view, the accessibility to high quality content for operative techniques and the diversity of content to understand various situations. While learning, surgeons spend a lot of time in operating room being beside, behind, or facing their mentor. Not seeing the procedure through the expert's eyes makes interpretation and retention of the gestures quite challenging. In a scientific article published in 2017, it has been shown that learning from the opposite side can provoke up to 50% more errors during execution. Surgery may be compared to very high-quality Art & Craft that a few artisans master. Consequently, surgeons need to travel a lot to meet world experts to learn and build their own expertise. Finally, for those able to do so and acquire a good amount of experience, surgeons continuously need to learn, review and even challenge their own techniques and ideally with the help of their peers. Therefore, we created a platform allowing to produce and share first person point of view, wide angle, 3D videos to immerse trainees in their mentor's universe and learn through his/her eyes leveraging AR/VR technologies for display. Our solution makes it easy to produce, edit and share technical procedures. Our customers are part of the top-leaders in Medical Device companies (Coloplast, Stryker, Baxter, B. Braun, Boston Scientific and Medtronic). After having developed pilots 2 years ago, we are now developing libraries of content for them. Our other customers are from fields belonging to High Consequences Industries: Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Aerospace. Like Surgeons, they are the ones who need experiential learning to become proficient.
