Job Description
The storefront team at Recurate is responsible for the maintenance and support of our Shopify application, as well as the implementation and customization of our client storefronts. This role will bring the Recurate resale experience to life on partners’ e-commerce stores, including brands like Michael Kors, Frye, Peak Design, Steve Madden, Clare V., Mara Hoffman and many others.

The Ecommerce & Shopify Application Engineer will be focused on maintaining and improving our resale technology including our Shopify application. We leverage and integrate with the Shopify ecosystem to create products and manage inventory, read orders, and deliver a best-in-class resale shopping experience within the Shopify ecosystem. You will drive the development and execute the vision of our partner brands and internal teams. You will use your fluency in Node.js, Liquid, CSS3, EJS, HTML, and other development technologies to enable resale customer journeys. You will have deep experience in Shopify, including as a developer of third party applications leveraging the breadth of the Shopify platform.

This role will report to the Lead Front End Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and extend the Recurate Shopify application using best-practices and leading technologies
• Lead the development and implementation of new resale features utilizing the Shopify ecosystem and developer platform
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve challenges related to building a third party product integrated into Shopify
• Work closely with product designers and other engineers to prototype, MVP and implement new storefront features
• Assist with store theme customization for clients as needed
• Ensure cross-platform and cross-device optimization of all code and templates
• Advise leadership on changes required to stay up-to-date with the Shopify ecosystem

Requirements

• 5+ years of full stack development experience
• Significant experience building Shopify apps and using themes and templates to craft exciting eCommerce experiences
• Experience with the following technologies and frameworks:
• Node.js
• Liquid
• CSS3
• EJS
• Express
• React
• AWS
• Typescript
• Git and GitHub
• Deep understanding and passion for the full Shopify ecosystem and a willingness to share with others.
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Experience working remote as part of a team of cross-functional engineers and designers (preferred)
