The empty shelf is a problem for retail that causes a loss of $1T globally. It has a negative effect on customer loyalty too: 30% of all buyers will go to another retailer.
Recoshelf has developed a simple shelf monitoring system: as stock drops, we inform responsible personnel. Also, we compare the price of the competition. We measure temperature to prevent the loss of products.
Technically, to recognize the products, we use a convolutional neural network. We train this network using the sample datasets. We need as little as 100 images to train the machine to reach 90% accuracy that is a competitive figure. Also, we use a simple IoT camera with low resolution that helps to limit data load and cut project costs. We charge $20 per smart camera that is our B2B SAAS service.
