A volunteer-based social network focused on community involvement and positive content
Rayze enables nonprofit organizations to recruit and manage volunteers by posting about needs, opportunities, and events. By connecting nonprofits with volunteers, Rayze allows users to devote their skills, time, and resources to make the world a better place and to share those experiences to inspire others. With a heavy focus on encouraging the creation and consumption of “good” social media content, such as videos or photos of volunteering experiences, good deeds, or positive news stories, Rayze creates a digital environment where users can confidently turn to for a reprieve from the seemingly endless amount of negativity in our world. A core belief of Rayze is that there is a lot of positivity in the world and that people want to do good, but as a society we are failing to do enough to highlight and celebrate this. This is where Rayze comes in.

Rayze initially came to life when 6 year NFL veteran Carl Nassib spent time volunteering at a juvenile detention facility with his former teammates on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Conversations following the visit revealed the fact that none of them had been aware of this opportunity to give back and wished they had known earlier. Not only did they feel they had an impact on the children in the facility, but they also walked away with a more positive mindset. This experience is what led to further research on finding ways for even more people to give back. In addition to this realization, we were also well aware of the many downfalls and negative impacts of the current social media platforms. As someone who developed a level of online attention due to his professional football career, Carl saw firsthand just how negative and toxic social media can be. By marrying these two ideas together, we’ve developed the end goal of creating a mobile app that can be described in the most simplest terms as a positivity enabler, outlet, and amplifier.
