Culture and benefits at Raven Black

We model our culture on Lockheed Martin's Skunkworks, the team that built the SR-71 Blackbird and F-117 Stealth Fighter. What made them successful is that they assembled small teams of exceptionally talented engineers, pointed them at hard problems, and had high expectations for the results. More importantly, they knew when to innovate and when to integrate so that their efforts went where they were needed most. Our engineering team reconfigures for each project, and you have the opportunity to grow into new roles each time. We identify subject matter experts in different technical areas by team nomination and consensus. All of our code goes through a peer-reviewed, pull request and CI process with Github. We manage our production infrastructure via Terraform in AWS with software deployed in Docker containers. Our entire test stack can run locally. Engineers can select their preference of OS, with most of the team on Mac or Linux.
