Rare Castle is an independent game development studio based in Cairo, Egypt, pioneering the revolutionary new genre of Healing Games.
Founded in 2018 by Mohamed Fawzy, we create cinematic, emotionally resonant experiences that go far beyond entertainment. Our games combine profound psychological storytelling, surreal world-building, and innovative gameplay mechanics designed to challenge the mind while genuinely healing and nurturing the soul.
Our flagship title, Project Escher, is an episodic cinematic psychological thriller inspired by M.C. Escher’s impossible architectures. Through its groundbreaking Inner Monologue mechanic and stunning photorealistic worlds built in Unreal Engine, players are taken on a transformative journey of self-discovery, inner reflection, and emotional growth.
In 2025, Rare Castle achieved a major milestone by becoming an Official PlayStation Partner with Sony Interactive Entertainment — a proud moment for an independent studio from the MENA region.
