At Qarnot, we heat people for free with computers. Qarnot created the first computing heater using CPUs as a heat source. Qarnot provides cloud computing through a disruptive distributed infrastructure where computing power is no longer deployed in concentrated data centers, but split throughout the city in the form of QH-1s. By avoiding data center costs related to infrastructure, maintenance and cooling, Qarnot offers affordable HPC. Since 2014, more than 100 French households are heated for free with QH-1s, computing remotely for banks (including BNP Paribas and Société Générale), 3D animation studios and research labs. In 2017, Qarnot announced a joint venture with a Chinese partner as well as a key commercial partnership with a Dutch partner. In 2018, Qarnot launched the QC-1 "crypto heater", a heater dedicated to customers, "the first heater generating crypto revenues". Qarnot is recognized as a pioneer in distributed cloud and Smart Building and won several awards, including Popular Mechanics’ Editors’ Choice Award at Las Vegas CES 2016, Cloud Innovation World Cup Award in 2015 and, Crédit Agricole Smart Home Challenge Award in 2016. Created in Paris in 2010, Qarnot's team counts 30 people. We put a great focus on development and making sustainable and reliable products to transform the way computing and building industry.
