Background: Traditionally, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) teams use clipboards and intermittent walks of the factory floors to identify risk, checking if there is compliance with the stagnant document-based safety procedures. This approach is tedious and flawed, as due to the intermittent nature of the walks, hazards are often overlooked, and as a result, incidents are not dealt with until after an accident has taken place. With Protex, customers benefit from an always-on auditing engine, allowing them to bring their document-based procedures into the real world. Protex provides insights to EHS teams to make changes, eliminating hazards, or focus on the enforcement of certain aspects of a procedure. The system also acts as a 24/7 guardian angel, protecting workers in real-time by alerting stakeholders of danger.
