We are developing the iCAP, a biosensor tool for blood-based diagnostics
PreCyte is developing the indicator cell assay platform (iCAP) for blood based diagnostics and is applying it to pre-symptomatic detection and progression in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer, starting with Alzheimer’s Disease, and Lung Cancer.

The iCAP is a biosensor-based tool analogous to early pregnancy tests. In those tests, the key analyte (hCG) was present at levels not easily detectable by then current means. The patient’s urine was injected into a rabbit and the readout was the response of the rabbit’s ovaries to the patient’s sample. In the iCAP, patient serum is applied to specifically selected standardized indicator cells (typically differentiated from iPS cells). The response of the cells provides the readout (typically gene expression). The iCAP is a highly innovative tool that could revolutionize medicine by enabling non-invasive early detection for many diseases.
