The app adds personalised audience data and income-generating advertising to a story and posts it to target readers on Google & Facebook’s platform publishing news networks, AMP and Instants. Stories are assigned a transparently assessed quality score to raise the profile of independent journalists overtaken by corporate media, censors and ‘fake news’ purveyors.
Plug.Direct levels the playing field for expert voices on social media - now the leading provider of news online worldwide. Its intital development will be supported in 2017 by the Google Digital News Initiative Innovation Fund.
