In 2019 our first amphibious robot created a stir in the robotics world and popular media for its unique ability to swim, crawl and ice-skate in one mission. We are working with the US Navy to develop a robot with commercial spin-off potential for ocean and coastal exploration, polar exploration, undersea mining, pipe inspection, fish farming, etc..

Pliant's robotics technology is an application of our foundational energy-harnessing concepts based on insights in fluid dynamics and solid mechanics. While robotics is our primary focus, work continues on the development of hydrokinetic pumps and generators with funding from the US Dept. of Energy.
